Like most people, I think, I am fascinated by mysteries, especially when they are local and I can actually visit the scene. I’ve tried to check local books and newspapers to get the most accurate accounts for these stories, but I’m always interested if you have a different or better source, or know more than I do.
Many of the photos are by my partner, Carole, or me, but some are stated as “believed public domain”. For those I’ve used the 70 year rule – (i.e) the people concerned have all passed on and the photo itself is more than 70 years old. However, I am happy to remove the photo if you hold the copyright and don’t wish to see it here.
